See what's happened at the Nine Network of Public Media in the past month.

  • As part of the Public Media Summit in February, Nine Network President & CEO Jack Galmiche and Senior Vice President of Community Engagement Amy Shaw traveled to Capitol Hill to meet with elected officials to discuss American Graduate’s importance in helping communities across the nation identify and implement solutions to improve high school graduation rates for all young people.
  • Ladue Middle School (LMS) students recently screened “Works in Progress” as part of “I am LMS Day,” which is designed to celebrate the student body’s diversity, uniqueness, and individuality. After watching the film, many LMS students had a greater understanding of the challenges that many young people must overcome to succeed in school and beyond.
  • The March 4 episode of Stay Tuned focused on toxic stress and the impact it has on young people. Adverse childhood experiences can lead to toxic stress in children, which has long-term impacts on their physical and emotional wellbeing. However, according to Dr. John Constantino, the love and support of a caring, consistent adult and/or supportive sibling/peer can help mitigate some of the damage caused by toxic stress.
