October Station Highlights
Last Updated by
Fall has been a busy time for the American Graduate St. Louis team. Here are a few highlights of what's happened in the past month.
- The Nine Network of Public Media hosted the American Graduate MidProject Meeting in early September with more than 30 participating stations represented. Discussions focused on celebrating success stories while addressing ways to increase community engagement, development, and content production.
- On October 27, the Wyman Center, in partnership with the Nine Network, will host its annual Saigh Symposium. This year’s focus will look at the regional partnerships that have formed around the youth. Community leaders will discuss challenges, best practices and review goals for improving the future of young people in our area.
- On October 10, the Nine Network participated in the education fair held at Harris Stowe State University. The event provided resources to smaller and in-home education centers and used a “train the trainer” format in which early education teachers were taught to incorporate STEAM topics into their curriculum.
- Cardinal Ritter students started their fall internship in September and are currently developing their skills in NineLab. They are addressing the issue of preventing school suspensions and are focusing on the benefit of after school activities. On October 26, they will host peer-to-peer discussions as part of their larger final project.
