2 St. Louis teachers named PBS LearningMedia Digital Innovators
After a nationwide search for digital media savvy educators, two teachers have been chosen among 100 other teachers to be a part of the 2015 PBS LearningMedia Digital Innovators program.
Patricia Brown, Technology Integration Coach, of Old Bonhomme Elementary School has been chosen as a Lead PBS LearningMedia Digital Innovator alongside third grade McCurdy Elementary School teacher Kelly Gilchrist. Bothstood out from the crowd as educators who are not only embracing digital media in the classroom, but truly paving the way in innovation and creative thinking.
Throughout the course of the 2015-2016 school year, PBS LearningMedia Digital Innovators will empower their peers and share strategies around digital media integration; serve as ambassadors that embrace life-long learning, collaboration, inclusion, and innovation; and make up a robust professional learning community that will foster new ways of thinking, while leading the way in digital media in the classroom.
They will also receive exclusive professional development from PBS, including virtual training and resources that they will be able to bring home to their school and incorporate into curriculum.
Last year, Don Goble of Ladue Horton Watkins High School was chosen from the area as a part of the 2014 class.
Congratulations to Patricia & Kelly!
