Gateway STEM students visit Nine Network
Last Updated by
On May 12, 2015, over 30 students from Gateway STEM High School visited the Nine Network to tour the station and participate in a digital storytelling activity. The students built on visual storytelling training they had already received as part of Gateway STEM’s StoryCorpsU curriculum. During their visit to Nine, students learned about the American Graduate initiative, viewed content, and then participated in a storytelling activity to produce spots about their American Graduate Champions. During the activity, students worked in small groups to identify their Champions and create common narratives about the qualities those Champions possess. They then presented those narratives to the broader group and engaged in a group editing process. Students used the feedback they received to polish their spots before recording them.
