As part of the PBS Kids Explore the Outdoors initiative, Nine Network recently distributed hundreds of seed packets and accompanying activity worksheets to community partners who used the materials to teach young people about nature. Kids from Beyond Housing’s early childhood centers and students from City Academy engaged in outdoor learning experiences that taught them about exploring the world around them and helped to develop important math and science skills. These kinds of activities are important since studies show that kids who explore the outdoors are happier, more alert, and curious.
