Aim High encourages students to step up their education goals

Posted by Meagan Banta-Lewis on

Aim High is a personal and academic enrichment program that helps students stay engaged over the summer. The program encourages their students to grow academically, graduate high school, and ultimately continue their education.

While most of their students emerging from challenging circumstances, the program focuses on academics as well as advisory and enrichment activities.

Statistics show the program has proven to help students in keeping them motivated to finish school –90 percent of Aim High students graduate high school and 85 percent go on to further their education.

With more than 20 years of success, the four-year program has expanded to a new location at the Villa Duchesne campus. Site Director Gina Watkins oversees the development of the program at this new campus and plays an essential role in its feat. Some of the graduating students have returned to the program as teacher assistants in efforts to reciprocate some of the help they received from the program.
